NWL: Can Gary Jay dethrone Maverick and be a “Real” STL Champion, Nov. 5?

NWL site bannerNWL 11/5/17

The NWL brings a long-awaited main event to the O’Fallon Elks Lodge in Missouri on Sunday, November 5: Maverick vs. Gary Jay.

Gary Jay held the Saint Louis Anarchy title for over 800 days.  Under any nickname or ring name, Gary Jay bleeds Saint Louis.  He issued the title challenge on Sept. 29 after a win over Jet Royal.  Challenge accepted.

Ever since winning the STL title in June, “Son of Texas” Maverick has made it clear that he doesn’t care about Saint Louis.  In fact, he has since covered the belt’s center plate with a sticker of the Texas flag.

Any knowledgeable wrestling fan will tell you that there is a clear disconnect between Maverick and the Gateway City he is supposed to represent.

The bout is Maverick’s third defense (at least within the metro area) of Saint Louis’s most prized championship.
