Powers-Khan, Jackson-Wylde, and the Brody Battle Royal, May 21

SICW 5/21/16

It’s May, which means that SICW has three highly-anticipated matches to headline its biggest card of the year at the East Carondelet Community Center on the 21st.

Ron Powers defends his SICW title for the second time against the dangerous Mongolian Attila Khan.  Also, Gary Jackson and Curtis Wylde will finally settle the score because the “Numba One Ginga” Wyldefyre will be locked in a cage at ringside.  No interference here!

To commemorate the life of Bruiser Brody, the second annual Memorial Battle Royal will take place as well.  This new tradition is set to become a part of the “Wrestling at the Chase” anniversary event each year.

KLD-Williams-Jones, May 14: Who faces Gary Jackson Next?

Kevin Lee Davidson will meet tag team partners A.J. Williams and Da’Marius Jones in a three-way match at the South Broadway Athletic Club on May 14.  The winner will face MMWA Heavyweight Champion Gary Jackson for the title at a date TBD.

Even if Williams and Jones collaborate against KLD, only one of them can become the next heavyweight mandatory challenger.

Gary Jackson has issued an open challenge for his title for this Saturday.  Wrestlers who have never had an MMWA heavyweight title shot are eligible.

“The Dragon” Comes to Troy! Plus, a Jr. Heavy Champ is Crowned, May 14

WLW 5/14/16

Only two men remain in the eight-man junior heavyweight title field.  Jon Webb and Jayden Fenix will match up on May 14 at the Race Wrestling Arena in Troy to decide who takes home the first WLW Jr. Heavyweight Championship belt.

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will be the guest referee for the Leland Race vs. Steve Fender showdown.  Meet the former world champion at a meet-and-greet before the event.

Cruz vs. Espinosa Top Cinco de Mayo Double Shot, May 7

 

Dynamo Pro Wrestling hosts two events in one day this Saturday, May 7.

For the third consecutive year, pro wrestling comes to Cherokee Street from 2 P.M. until the early evening with outdoor matches.  Grab a cerveza and enjoy this free event featuring Dynamo Pro competitors.

Later that evening, the monthly main course at the Stratford Bar & Grill boasts of an anticipated MWR Missouri Championship match.

Ricky Cruz comes to his milestone tenth defense of the independent title.  Espinosa has attacked Cruz on numerous occasions, stolen the belt several times, and… the instigation has worked.

Meet Terry Funk at the East Carondelet Community Center on Friday, April 15.  The meet-and-greet begins at 5:30.  Admission is $20 and includes entry into the wrestling event later that evening.

The wrestling card features a one-night single-elimination eight man tournament to determine the next challenger for Flash Flanagan’s Classic Wrestling Championship.

Two of the greatest champions in the history of the South Broadway Athletic Club clash for the MMWA heavyweight title, April 9.

Gary Jackson makes his fourth defense against Brandon Espinosa, who won a battle royal tournament last month to earn his opportunity as challenger.

The pair had a massive feud in 2011-12 and this showdown is expected to excite.

The Rematch: Cruz vs. Dirden III, Apr. 2

Dynamo Pro Wrestling completes the trilogy of rivals Jake Dirden and Ricky Cruz at the Stratford Bar & Grill in Fenton on April 2.

This is Cruz’s seventh defense of the MWR Missouri Title and Dirden’s second defense of the Dynamo Pro Title.

Cruz won the first match in November with Dirden’s foe Mike Outlaw as a special ref.  The rematch in January was a no contest when Brandon Espinosa interfered.

Eric Allen: Revenge & Farewell, Mar. 26

Dynamo Pro 3/26/16

Dynamo Pro Wrestling returns to the Douglas Club (former Knights of Columbus) in Wood River on Mar. 26.  The six-man tag main event features Eric Allen in his final match.

Last month in Wood River, Santel and McDarby slapped the glasses off Eric Allen (these days working as a referee).  This leads Allen out of retirement for one night only, at the home venue of defunct Metro East Championship Wrestling.

Allen was a headliner at MECW until its closure in 2012.
